Is it just me, or...

Hello everyone! Wendy here, wishing you all a Happy New Year! Or as Taylor says "Prospero Ano Nuevo!"

Anyways, by now you've all certainly pics of Lanie. She's pretty cute, I think, but there's something that seems a little off... like, perhaps her hair. Is it just me, or does her wig almost look like it's not properly attached? I dunno... not looking to spread negativity or anything but that's just weird...

Hope to talk to you all soon!
Love, Wendy

The Awesomeness of Ashley

Hi everyone! It's me again, Wendy, here to introduce you to my new friend Ashley.

Ashley is a Just Like You #26, which means she has Addy's face mold, gorgeous curly dark brown hair and this totally unique amber eye color. Her full name is Ashley Noel Beaumont and she was born on Christmas day, 1998. She just turned 11 and goes to my school. What's interesting about her is that she's really smart and was able to skip first grade, so even though her birthday is after the deadline she's in 6th grade. She and Taylor are in the same dance class and they're practically best friends. Ashley is really fun... she loves to watch silly movies and sing and dance along with the radio. And unlike some of my friends, she doesn't mind watching Superman or playing video games. And another neat thing about her is that her family does a lot of travelling so she has cool stories about exotic places. She's a little shy to talk about her travels at first, but once she gets going, she's so excited and animated that you feel like you're on the trip with her! We're still getting to know one another, but I like her a lot already. I'm thinking about asking her to post a guest blog post some time... she says having a blog sounds really fun. =)

Well, that's all for now. Hope to talk to you all again very soon!

Until next time,

Antique Store Finds

Hi everyone! Wendy here. Something super cool happened yesterday! Bre went to a couple of antique stores with her mom and came home with doll furniture!

The first store was kind of a motherlode. She found Samantha's desk for like $20! And it's authentic. Samantha is super excited. She also found this really pretty doll crib for Noah. I like that a lot. The store also had two doll sized wicker loveseats but Bre wasn't able to get one.

Here are some pics:

All of us dolls are hoping Bre goes back again soon. =)

The Story of Bre's Dolls

Hello again people! This is Wendy... coming to you on this lovely after-holiday morning with a scheduled post. :D Today I thought that I might write a little something about each of us dolls here... something new, just for fun. =)

Addy - The first doll. Bre got her for Christmas when she was 10 -- in 1998 (wow, the year I was born!) Addy is really nice and smart... she helps us all with spelling and she's teaching me to sew.

Nicki - The second girl. Bre bought her in 2007 direct from AG. What she loved about Nicki was that she loves animals. What I love about Nicki is that she's always up for anything and is so fun.

Samantha - Bre's 20th birthday present. Samantha is really adventurous but still such a lady. She's always trying to have teas or play world explorers.

Nellie - Bre bought Nellie at AGPLA after AG announced that she and Sam were being archived. Nellie is very quiet and thoughtful... she never causes trouble.

Wendy - That's me! Be got me last year on ebay after she decided that she wanted a pre-Mattel #12. I showed up soon... it was kinda like destiny.

Quinn - Quinn is formerly a Mia doll and Bre got her for Christmas last year. She's my best friend, and she's amazing! She's sweet and cool... even though we're really different we always have fun together.

Molly - Bre got her on ebay early this year. She had a hard time fitting in for a while, but now everything is nearly perfect. She always has great ideas and is very outspoken. She doesn't like Kirsten very much though, and I think she's a little mean to her...

Taylor - Taylor is a #25 and was purchased from one of Bre's fellow message board members, and she's been here since this past spring. We didn't used to get along too well, but we're really good friends now! She's one of the most generous and caring people I know.

Noah - Noah is a bitty baby who Wendy got on eBay for like $12. She's a really early bitty too, so she has white eye lashes! She's a really quiet baby and she loves to play with blocks and her teddy bear.

Ivy - Ivy was Bre's 21st birthday present this past August. Ivy is so cool! She has the best stories and always gives me cool music suggestions.

Kirsten - Kirsten joined our family this October. Bre had been wanting her for a long while, so when AG announced the archival, she decided she'd better get her soon. Kirsten is really sweet... she likes to take care of Noah and influence Bre to keep cheese in the house at all times. She and Addy are the best of friends since they live so close to one another in time.

Ashley - Ashley is a #26 and the newest doll here... Bre's Christmas present yesterday. She seems nice so far, and she's in Taylor's ballet class. Her full name is Ashley Noel Beaumont... isn't that neat?

My first visit to AG Place!

Firstly, hello again, everyone! Wendy here, and I sure have missed you all! Can you believe we still don't have internet at home? Thank goodness we have friends who let us borrow their's. :)

Secondly, I'm out of school for break. Yay! And guess what! Bre has officially finished college! Her graduation isn't until June though, and she's transferring from her junior college to a university, but still. :p

Thirdly, December 9th was my birthday and now I'm 11! And Bre made me official guardian of Coconut, so now I have a dog!!!

Fourthly, Merry Christmas to all my Christmas c
elebrating friends!

And lastly, but most importantly, yesterday I went to American Girl Place! It was wonderful. :) For Christmas, Bre's mommy bought her a new dolly! But we aren't technically allowed to play with her until tomorrow. But her name is Ashley and she's really pretty! She seemed super excited to leave the store. Hopefully I'll get to tell you more about her soon... once we meet that is. :)

AGPLA album is here.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to wish all you guys a happy Thanksgiving! I still have no internet to post regularly, but I'm still thinking about all of you! I really miss you all!

I miss you guys =(

Hi everyone! It's your faithful and forever blogger friend Wendy! Our internet is still off (it's driving us all loopy!) and I miss you guys really bad! I'm at school right now... thank goodness for computer labs! I try to read your blogs when I'm at school, but I don't usually have time to comment (especially since we aren't supposed to use the computers for fun stuff, just school stuff... yadda yadda.)

So, as you all might have read on Bre's post, she's saving up to buy Kirsten. I just noticed that two of the things she wanted are already backordered... she won't be happy about that. As for me, I feel like I'm going crazy at school... it's SO boring. Day in, day out, the same thing. It's too early in the school year to feel burnt out, but I already do.

Nicki had a birthday a while back (September 17th.) She's 11 now. Taylor and I are the only ones who are still 10, and her birthday is later this month. I feel like such a baby. =P

Well, thanks for still thinking about me out here in planet boring. Hope to talk soon!

Bre's Post: Project Kirsten

By now, you’ve all heard about the latest victim of AG’s money makingest scheme – archival. As someone who greatly enjoys collecting these dollies and always has a list of the next few dolls to hope for, I was super bummed when I heard about Kirsten getting the axe… she was on my list, but not for a while yet. Of course this whole thing changes my plan a bit… Kirsten will be next.

We’ve been having a really tough time around my house, and I think I deserve a present. (Trust me XD) I tutor at my school and get paid… my first check will come on October 15th, and I’m hoping to use it to start myself on a little Kirsten collection. I’m hoping to get her, her accessory set, her school dress, and her little doll Sari. That way she’ll have a nice extra outfit (which is, coincidentally my favorite outfit of hers) and her little dolly. Every girl needs a doll, right? =) I’ve already read her books, but I don’t have them. My mom has hinted that she might be willing to get those off of Amazon for me though.

So that’s my current plan. Project Kirsten, or to sound even more mysterious: Project K. Wish me luck?

P.S. Wendy hasn’t been updating regularly because the internet is still off at our house. I’m at school now (shh!).

It's Just Life.

Hi everyone!!!! Guess what? I'm still alive! *thunderous applause*

Would you like to know where I've been? Nowhere. Here. The internet has been off at our house for over a month. =( Bre and I are going insane! We're spending a few days at Bre's friend's house (which, coincidentally, is where my friend Rachel lives), so we're bumming her 'netz.

Sooo... we started school again on August 24th. It takes a lot of time a day out of my doing nothing time, *sigh* but it's okay. I have a few classes with Nicki, so that's nice. I'm in marching band, and in November we're gonna play in the Veteran's Day parade.

And since I last talked to you all, Bre had a birthday (the big 2-1, if you can believe that!) and we got a new sister... Ivy! =) Everyone here is crazy about her... she's so pretty and has the best stories about San Francisco. Bre also got a new kitten... she now has three cats, and none of them are big doll fans. =P

Travelling Sheridan has come and gone. I don't have pictures at the moment, but we did have an awesome time. Bre has also taken back to school pics of all of us dollies which I hope to be able to show you soon.

I'm sorry I haven't been around to talk to all of you, and that I haven't been able to read your bloggings about what's going on with all of you. If I don't comment on any of your blog posts for a while, don't be offended.

I'll try to do as many posts as I can while we're here for these few days.

Your faithful blogger,
Wendy Madelyn Stein

Hello from guest blogger Taylor

Hi everyone! This is Wendy's friend Taylor. She was kind enough to let me come on her blog and talk to you guys, so I figured I'll just sort of introduce myself. =)

My name is Taylor Castro and I'm 10 years old, 11 in October. I'll be starting 6th grade soon. I've gone to a private Catholic school since kindergarten, and it's okay. I like it, but most of my friends go to different schools. Before I moved in Wendy's neighborhood, I lived two doors down from my grandparents, who are my favorite people in the whole world. My best friend also lived next door. I still get to see them, since it's just on the other side of town, but I really miss running down to Lita's house (I call my grandma Lita because, as a baby, I could never pronounce abuelita, which is Spanish for grandma!) and playing everyday with my friends in the neighborhood. I get to hang out with Wendy a lot here, so it's almost okay.

My one true love is ballet. It's so much fun, and I really feel alive when I dance. I'm an only child, and I live with my parents. My mom is a nurse, and my dad is a reporter and photographer for our town's biggest newspaper. Something that I guess is pretty neat about me is that I can time travel. I've gotten to be pretty good friends with Bre's historical dolls because of that.

Sorry for such a long post! Hope I didn't bore you too much. =) Anything else you wanna know about me, you can leave a comment asking... and maybe Wendy will let me post again.

Minding the baby.

Yesterday Bre asked Taylor and me to mind baby Noah, and we were really excited to do it. So we got dressed in our babysitting outfits, and set out to do our job.

We took her outdoors to enjoy some sun. We sat on the bench in Bre's front yard, and watched the traffic.

Noah wanted to play in the dry fallen leaves, but we put her in the grass since that's softer.

We came back inside when it got late and helped her build a pyramid with her blocks.

Finally, she got tired and we laid her on Bre's puppy pillow for a nap.

Isn't she cute and sweet? Taylor is a good babysitting partner too. =) Oh, Bre asked me to answer a question for her. A couple people wanted to know the meaning behind Noah's name... she said she picked the name Noah Margaret because she doesn't like a lot of the current popular baby names. She prefers old fashioned names, but she wanted to have it be a little unique, so she picked Noah, which is usually a boy's name, but sometimes a girl's name too.

OMG!

I was at Quinn's house this morning, and her little brother Ben would not leave us alone. We were reading magazines and listening to music in her room, and he just kept coming in and talking to me. It was SO weird. So I asked Quinn why he was acting so weird, and she says, "Oh. He discovered girls the other day."

I didn't get it. I asked her what she meant by that, and she says, "He likes girls now. Actually, he just likes YOU! He said you guys are gonna get married some day." Um... no. EWW! He's 7! A 7 year old likes me. This is SO embarrassing! And Quinn thought it was funny! I wish I had a little brother to get hooked on her!

Need inspiration

So, we've all been enjoying the baby. Bre made an album with pics of Noah and us with her and it's here. Check it out... and leave comments if you can. We love comments. =)

I'm experiencing the same thing Avery mentioned in one of her recent posts. I'm kinda running out of ideas for what to post about. I know I tend to babble and make posts that a too long. I don't wanna bore my readers though, so I try not to do that. And Bre can't take too many good pictures of us outside or anything because it's so dry here! I love posting on this blog though... it's actually really fun. I don't know. Anyone have any ideas?

Until next time,

Bre's post: Wanna talk dolly couture and stuff?

Hello everyone, it's Bre (aka BuckinghamAlice)... Wendy's person. (She insists I say it that way... she's not my doll, I'm her person.) With all the buzz around doll couture, I wanted to talk about it too. I just love looking at it!

I currently own 3 Liberty Jane outfits and 3 by cottage_roses (which Wendy blogged about here). I want my next couture item to be from either terristouch on Etsy or Dollie's Dressmaker. I'm thinking about something for Addy first, since she was my first doll (and the moderns have enough). There is also another Addy outfit that I'm also watching on eBay, but given how those things usually go, I don't have my fingers crossed. Anyways...

From Terristouch, I like these:

These dresses are both in the $20 range. Neither is like anything Addy already has.
The first one looks like something she might wear to school, while the second is a little dressier... a party dress.

Then, from Dollie's Dressmaker, there's this one:

This dress is based on a retired Addy outfit called her Patriotic Party Dress that I never got the chance to get. It usually sells for quite a lot on eBay, and is usually not even complete. The only downside to this dress is that, at $41.95, it's more than the other two. I don't mind paying for high quality though, so we'll have to see. I have a birthday coming up in August (the big two-one!), so maybe I'll get lucky and get one of these dresses.

The main thing I'm asking for as a birthday present is Ivy! She is really darn adorable. And I've already got a terristouch item I want for her.

Couldn't you see Ivy skipping down a San Francisco street in that? I can't stop seeing it, lol. I think Ivy will need to get this dress soon after she arrives. I'm not crazy about her meet outfit, and it isn't as though AG has made a lot of clothes for her!

So I'm going to try very hard to save up my money for couture and nice things for my dolls. I think they deserve it. Any thoughts on which Addy outfit is the best? Thoughts on my plan to get Ivy? Other thoughts? I'd like to hear what you all think. =)

All pictures above belong to their respective owners - Terristouch and Dollie's Dressmaker. I own nothing in this blogging but my humble opinions.

Guess what!

Remember how I said Nicki is in Colorado with her family? Well, she IMed me earlier and said she's coming home on next Wednesday. She'll fly into Los Angeles and catch the bus from there to here (which is about two hours away, depending on traffic). I know Quinn told you all how much fun she's having at home, but she said she's missed us all a lot too, and she'll be happy to be back with her grandma. But what's really cool is that her mom is coming with her! Her mom will stay for about a week and a half with Nicki and her grandma and then she'll go home. I think that'll be good for Nicki... kinda like not quitting cold turkey.

And guess what else! Bre has been doing a little eBaying. And she won her first Bitty Baby! Hopefully she'll be here soon. Bre says that all of us dolls can think of this little one as a baby sister. I wonder if I'll get to babysit...

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

Happy 4th of July!

Photobucket

Hi everyone! It's me, Wendy, here with Quinn and Taylor. We just wanted to wish you all a happy Independence Day! And if you're not American, have a great day anyways. =)

This evening, Taylor and her parents are going to a party at her grandparents' house. My family is going to see the big fireworks show at the stadium of Bre's school. There's a party in Quinn's apartment complex (kinda like a block party) and she and I are going to that.

That's all for now. I know this was a short post, but I just wanted to spread a little holiday happiness.

Until next time,
Wendy S., Quinn S., and Taylor C.

An email from Nicki.

Hi everyone! It's me, Quinn. I got an email from Nicki earlier, and I wanted to share it with you. She's still in Colorado, if you're wondering.

"Dear Quinn,
How are you guys doing? I hope you're having as good a time as I am. I had no idea that I missed Colorado so much! When I got off the plane, my mom and dad ran up to and squeezed me so tight I could barely breath! That night my mom made all my favorite foods for dinner, and my friends Becca and Kris came over. Oh my gosh, I missed them so much! They stayed over that night, and we all stayed up all night just talking. And you wouldn't believe how much my little brother and sisters have grown! I hardly recognized the twins. Yesterday I babysat them with Becca, and we actually had fun! I've been hanging out with Becca and Kris everyday... the other day, we went hiking. I've missed being able to do that SO much! I'm having such a good time, I wish I didn't have to come back. And now that I know Nana is getting on so well without me, maybe I'll stay longer. Say hi to Wendy and Taylor for me! Talk to you soon! - Nicki"

Okay. I'm going to try not to be emotional... but it's hard. She doesn't want to come back! What if she doesn't? Gosh, I would miss her so much. What can I do?

Love, Quinn <3

Taylor and Me

So I told you all about how Taylor had invited me and Quinn over to her house the other day, right? Well, we both went. She was really nice to me, and it made me feel really guilty for not being too nice to her. So I invited her over today. It was a lot of fun.

Photobucket
Photobucket

We played dolls for a while. I don't know if you can tell in the pic, but she has a Samantha doll. Then Quinn had to go call her mom, and Taylor and I had a chance to talk. I told her I was sorry for being not so nice to her, and I admitted I only acted like that because I was jealous. It's *still* hard not to be jealous... she's so pretty, she has so much stuff... and she's still so new. But she surprised me because she said the reason she acted over nice to me was because she was jealous too, and she didn't want it to show. I don't think there's any reason to be jealous of me... but she said she was, because all the other dolls told her that I'm really special to Bre. We laughed for a while at ourselves after that... I mean, it is kinda silly.

After Quinn came back from talking to her mom, we watched the movie Hairspray. And there's a song in there called "The New Girl in Town," and when it came on, my eyes met Taylor's and we both started to laugh again. Quinn looked at us both like she thought we were crazy.

So as of right now, I'm pretty cool with Taylor. It's neat that she lives so close by, so maybe we will hang out together more now. We'll just have to see. =)

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

Haley has left the building.

Well, Haley's off to her next host now. I miss her already! I'm sorry I didn't post as much or share a lot of pics while she was here, since we really mostly hung out around here, but I have a huge album for you to look at now! Please comment the pics and what not. =)

Album is here.

Anyways, you may notice Taylor appears in some of those pics. Quinn introduced her and Haley, and they got along pretty well. Everyone seems to like Taylor a lot. In fact, Quinn is going to her house to watch movies and play dolls tomorrow, aka my two favorite things next to comic book reading. Taylor even invited me. She's always so nice to me... it makes me feel really guilty. I don't know if I'll go to her house yet... I'll have to see.

And Nicki will be leaving to spend a couple of weeks at home in Colorado in a couple of days. I'm gonna miss her a lot! I never would have thought we'd become friends. When I first met her, I didn't pay her any attention... then when I found out she was friends with Quinn, I was so jealous. But now, it's gonna seem weird that she's not right here.

That's about it... I'll update you soon on things around here with Taylor.

Until next time,

More fun with Haley

Hello again! I wanted to update everyone on what Haley and I have been up to the last day or so.

We've been watching a lot of DVDs with Bre, and listening to random music with her. While we were listening to audio commentary of my favorite episode of the Simpsons ever ("Lisa the Vegetarian" from season 7), we heard that on the special features Paul McCartney gives his famous lentil soup recipe. We made that for dinner last night! So tasty. A few days ago, Haley went with Bre on a few errands and said the trip was "boring but still nice." A few nights ago she and Quinn went to visit Bre's friend and her dolls. I'm sorry I don't have any pics today, but hopefully I will soon.

Meanwhile, on an unrelated note, things are still the same with Taylor. Her family has moved in next door, and Quinn and Nicki have already been over to her house. Taylor said Haley and I were invited too, but she has a cat and Haley's allergic, so I stayed with her, not that I wanted to go anyways.

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

PS - I just noticed that I now have 6 followers. Thanks! Anyone else who wants to follow this blog is encouraged to do so. =)

The new doll.

So Bre has a new doll, and I'm honestly not too happy about it. She's been talking about getting this doll since before she even got me (or so I hear). But I thought she might have changed her mind. But no. Grrrr.... A while back she tells all us dolls that a new doll will be coming to stay here. "She's modern too," she says to me, Quinn, and Nicki. They got all excited and started asking a million questions and wondering what she'd be like. But I wasn't as excited.

And then she got here... and she's.... pretty. And all the other dolls like her. Her name is Taylor. She's really pretty. She lives down the street from me, and she goes to private school. She's a #25.
Photobucket

Bre's been brushing her hair a lot and trying all sorts of different outfits on her. She keeps saying how pretty she is, and that she gets cuter every time she looks at her. Give me a break! I'm sure she's a cool person and all, but I don't understand why she has to live here. Wasn't one JLY enough?

Bre trotted us all out the other day for a group shot with Haley. She didn't give me and Nicki a chance to change out of our pajamas before she took the picture. But look at Taylor... smiling, all dressed up. Ugh!
Photobucket

I know I'm being a little irrational. I guess none of this is Taylor's fault, but that doesn't make it any easier to take.

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

P.S. Kit, if you're reading this, Haley wanted me to tell you hello, and make sure you pass that along to all her other buds who are still around.

Haley arrives and the internet dies.

Hi everyone! Long time, no speak! Our internet has been on the fritz for a week now... that's why I haven't been able to post. *sigh* But I'm back! Hopefully, lol. And Bre and I are both still alive in case you were wondering, lol.

So... now I'll tell you about what I know you've all been wanting to hear! Haley arrived about a week ago, and we've been having a great time! We haven't done too much special stuff... we've watched a lot of DVDs with Bre and we've visited her friend's house. I introduced her around to my friends over there and she was a big hit. We had a few sleepovers with Quinn and Nicki too. Unfortunately she also had to meet my sisters... she did say that she understands why I complain about them now, lol.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Meanwhile, I'm a little upset. Bre has a new doll. I told her she wasn't allowed to get another doll, but she doesn't know how to listen. Ugh! I promise I will tell you all about this new doll soon. And I never did tell you about when Bre went to AGP without me, did I? Well, I will next time. It'll be a big rant at her. :D

Until next time,

Quinn's Birthday!

So monday June 1st was Quinn's birthday! We had a lot of fun. The album is here. You can see in the album what I got her. And feel free to comment on the pics here and/or on the album! =) I'm pretty sure I mentioned before that Quinn was getting a doll... well, she got her first AG... Julie! Her mom told me and Nicki a while back, but she really didn't know. =D

A couple of previews from the album:
Photobucket

Photobucket

We played a lot of different games and watched movies and stuff. Quinn wanted to play popstars (which is basically just singing along with the music and pretending you're on stage) forever, and she wouldn't let us get into our pajamas until like 4 AM, when her mom finally demanded we change and head to bed. But she was pretty happy because, after the picnic, her little brother Ben went to stay over with one of his friends.

I guess that's about all for now... I need to be heading off to bed. In the pics you can see that I'm wearing Rebecca's School Outfit... I'll have to tell you about how I got that later.

Until next time,

Shopping for Quinn's birthday

Today was the last day of school! It was great. All the fifth graders in school (from all three classes) were given a big party in the playground. There was so much ice cream and pizza! I almost burst! We finished up our tests and stuff yesterday, and turned in our big history papers. We were allowed to chose any American historical figure and write a big paper about them and what they accomplished. But the catch was that girls had to choose women and boys had to pick men. (I told you my teacher was weird.) I wrote about Abigail Adams.

Meanwhile, tomorrow Nicki and I are going shopping for Quinn's birthday presents tomorrow. I think Nicki already knows what she wants to get her, but I have no idea! What should I get her?

Until next time,

Sixth Grade Schedule

Today I was notified at school that I will be receiving the Mary G. Lee Principal's Award this Thursday at the fifth grade award ceremony. Mary G. Lee was the very first principal at my school (Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary), and the award is given each year to a fifth grade girl who shows creativity, effort, and leadership. I'm really proud... I never saw this coming!

We were also given our schedules for fall.

1st/2nd Period - English and Language Arts
3rd Period - Math
4th Period - P.E.
5th Period - Science
6th Period - Social Studies (History)
7th Period - Reading

I got another surprise on my schedule... I was placed in GATE/Honors. GATE stands for Gifted and Talented Education, and you know what Honors means. Since when am I smart? LOL It turns out that Claire (yes, the mean one) is in 1st/2nd, 4th, and 7th with me. UGH!! I called Nicki (who got her schedule in the mail) and she's in 1st/2nd, 3rd, and 6th with me. We get along pretty well now, so I'll be glad to have her in my classes. But Claire? YUCK! No thank you.

It will indeed be an interesting three years at Antongiovanni Middle School.

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

Hello all! It's me, Quinn! I'm glad to be posting on here again after everything is chill again with me and Wendy. I missed you guys!

So, I've decided what I want to do for my birthday! We'll be having a picnic outside, and then having a sleepover. We're gonna try to stay up all night! It'll be me (obviously), Wendy (of course), Nicki, my brother Ben (since he lives here), and I don't know who else. There are a couple of other girls at church I talk to, but they aren't really friends. There is one girl in my apartment building I like, but her mom would never allow her to come to a sleepover. When Wendy and I first started babysitting, her mom asked us to watch her, and she's 12!

Anyways, I'm making a playlist of different songs to play at my party. We've all picked a few so far.
I'm gonna try to think of some more songs so we can have a really diverse playlist. I can't wait for my party!

My picks: "Love Story" and "Picture to Burn" by Taylor Swift, "How It Feels" by Eleventyseven, "Hot and Cold" by Katy Perry

Wendy's picks
: "Fences" and "Decode" by Paramore, "All Around Me" by Flyleaf

Nicki's picks
: "Paranoid" by the Jonas Brothers, "I Know" by Drake Bell, "Crush" by David Archuleta

Ben's picks: "I,2,3,4" by the Plain White Ts, "Here Comes Goodbye" by Rascal Flatts

Love, Quinn <3

(BTW, if you saw another post on this blog that was here briefly (about Bob Dylan), just ignore it! Bre posted it on here by accident and then deleted it... and Wendy isn't ever supposed to know it even happened. Shh!)

Nicki... my... friend? Ish?

So I found out more about Nicki. She's from Colorado, and she used to live on a ranch with her parents, younger brother, and younger twin sisters. Yeah, twin sisters! She's lucky they aren't older. She moved her recently because her grandmother (who lives here) needed help around the house. And she couldn't turn her grandma down. So she had to leave her family and all her friends... but here she is. She has this amazing horse named Jackson... he's gorgeous! He was in Colorado until this past weekend. Her parents agreed to have him stabled here for her so she could visit him anytime. We were at a troop meeting yesterday when she asked me if I wanted to go with her to see him. She even said maybe I could ride him some time, but since I have never ridden any kind of animal, I don't think I'll be taking her up on that any time soon.

I don't know though... we are in a kind of friendly place now. She's nicer than I ever thought. It's nice having someone on my troop who is, at the very least, an ally. A lot of the girls on my troop are really stuck up.

But best of all... I'm happy to say I'm no longer best friendless. Quinn and I made up. After our visit to the stable, Nicki and I went to her house, and after about 10 minutes Quinn showed. Turns out that Nicki invited us both over without telling the other. We saw each other and just resumed normalcy. *happy* So, I have my best friend back thanks to the one person I thought was going to steal her away.

Until next time,

Fifth Grade Tour and Quinn-In-The-Middle

I'm sorry I haven't been on here to tell you all about everything that happened with me in the last little while. I was busy all day Thursday, and Friday was my parents' wedding anniversary. Then I got grounded on Saturday morning, lol.

Anyways, Thursday was the day all of us fifth graders went to tour our new junior high. We were divided into groups of three and given to sixth graders who had volunteered to lead us around for the day. And guess who I was grouped with? Claire (remember the mean girl who made fun of me for crying about the Holocaust and then wiped out during the play?) and Nicki. Nicki is homeschooled right now because she moved too late in the school year to be able to catch up, but she'll be coming to our school this fall. The girl who was chosen to lead us around was a girl who lives in Quinn's apartment building. She's pretty mean... from what I hear, she's kinda a nightmare. She was really dismissive with us while she was showing us around... not necessarily mean, but she certainly wasn't nice. Meanwhile, Claire and I haven't talked to each other since everything happened with the play, but that day she was trying to be really friendly toward me. It was weird... I pretty much just ignored her. And Nicki pretty much ignored me.

The school seems nice... no lockers or playground, but the library is open at lunch and they have internet (which you can use for 15 minutes at a time) and a pretty good selection of manga books. I met the woman who will be my English teacher and the man who will be my Math teacher. They seemed pretty okay. They have a marching and concert band, and the director seems really cool. That was about all... it was a lot more uneventful than I had expected.

Friday was the first time since the carnival Quinn spoke to me. She called to say she wouldn't be coming to my parents' anniversary dinner and to tell me that I need to know that she can have more than one friend and that I don't own her. I didn't know what to say... of course I know I don't own her! And I don't care how many friends she has... I just don't think that she should ignore me because someone new comes along. I told her that if she didn't think more of me than that, I didn't want her as a friend anyways. So we haven't talked since then.

But you know who I have talked to? Nicki! We had a Girl Scout thing on Saturday, and she sat by me while we ate lunch. Neither of us said anything for a long time... until we were done eating, actually. But we sorta came to an agreement after that.
"I just want you to know that I'm not the kind of person that would ever steal someone's best friend," she began.
"It doesn't matter anyways," I said. "She's not speaking to me."
Nicki sighed. "I don't want to mess things up. I just wanted to have a friend. I don't know a lot of people here yet..."
"I'm not trying to keep you and Quinn from being friends! It's not like I have a problem with you or something," I insisted. "I just don't want her to forget about me!"
"Well," Nicki began, "how about we make a deal? If I get Quinn to make up with you, we could share her. Then I wouldn't have to feel like the loser new girl and you wouldn't have to be best friendless." We shook on it.

So... I guess Nicki and I are okay. But I don't know about me and Quinn. She hasn't talked to me. Nicki said she talked to her, but I'm not seeing any results. What can I do?

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

P.S. I'm sorry this was so long! You guys know how I tend to ramble, lol...

The carnival and how it turned sour.

Well, the carnival finally happened yesterday. It went okay at first, but then not so well. Quinn and I were having a lot of fun. We bought these stupid sunflower hats from the rummage sale and we got our faces painted. We ate a lot of junk food and played a lot of silly games. We won some silly little prizes too.

And then Nicki showed up. And Quinn forgot all about me. I've been replaced before, but never so quickly. What am I gonna do?

Take a look at the album and you can see more or less how everything happened.
Photobucket

Anyways, tomorrow afternoon is the junior high tour. I'm hoping to find out good things about my soon to be new school. *sigh*

Until next time,

The carnival is back on!

Remember how I told you guys that they cancelled our school carnival because of the freak rainstorm? Well, it's back on! It's going to be this Tuesday, and I can't wait wait! It sucks that it's in the middle of the week, but that was the only day they could do it. But it will still rock. =) I'll be sure to post and tell you all about it.

Also, the Thursday after the carnival will be junior high tour day. All of us fifth graders will go to the jhs we'll be attending this fall for a tour. My sisters said they'll pair each of us off with a sixth grader who'll take us around the school and whatnot. I'm not too happy about having to go to a new school... I've been going to Eleanor Roosevelt since I was in kindergarten! I've heard good things and bad things about the school I'll attend... I just wish I had some friends going there. But as far as friends go, I have a few kids at school that I talk to and don't really mind, but my only real friend is Quinn. And she's homeschooled. *sigh* Do you think it'll be three years of awful or do I have a chance?

Until next time,

Dog sitting!

Hey again! Quinn here. Today, one of the women from my apartment building had to be gone all day, so she paid me to watch her dog Coconut. Wendy and I took him to the park. What fun!

Photobucket

Coconut was a nice and fun doggy. I wish I could have a dog. In our apartments you have to pay $500 to get a pet permit to have a dog or cat live with you. So my mom has put her foot down about that. *sigh* But at least I had fun dog sitting today, and I got paid. =)

May Day and the Ridiculous Weather

Today is May Day! My school was supposed to have a May Day carnival today. The carnivals at school are fun... all the kids get released after lunch to the carnival, that way all the kids can come. But then at night, it's really wonderful. There are tons of games, and face painting... and a cake walk! All the lights go on and there are a lot of fun things to do. And there's food everywhere... it's just so much fun. Quinn and Ben were going to come with my family this evening.

But... one thing the school didn't know when the carnival got planned was that the weather is horrible! It's been windy and rainy and plain awful all day! This morning the principal announced that the carnival had to be postponed because of the weather and everything. We may not have it at all now. =/

And I'm not the only one getting fun stuff cancelled. Bre's Anthropology class was going on a field trip to the Zoo tomorrow, but she isn't able to go now.

So Quinn and I are just gonna be watching movies and stuff tonight. That'll still be fun, right? =)

Until next time,

Manga Me, among other things.

Hello all. =) I wanted to tell you about my weekend, but I couldn't think of a good title, lol. On Sunday, Bre and her friend (my auntie / godmother) went to the Renaissance faire. I wanted so badly to go, but she didn't think it would be a very good idea. But since they left really early that morning, she had to stay over at the auntie's house. And I did get to go to that! I got to see my friends Rachel, Samantha, and Kit who live there. We had our very own sleepover.

Photobucket
(Left to right: Rocko, Kit, Samantha, Rachel, Rachel's kitty, and me)

Samantha and Rachel belong to Auntie Diana, and Rocko (a BAB) and Kit belong to Auntie Becky, who is Auntie Diana's mom.

I also made cartoon versions of me and Quinn. What do you think?
PhotobucketPhotobucket

In other news, I'm a little mad at Bre. I've been asking her for a Ren Faire costume, but she won't make it for me. It seems all she ever does these days is complain about how much the end of the semester sucks and listen to Bob Dylan. And the Beach Boys. And the Beatles. And don't get me started on her and Billy Joel. *sigh* School will end for her sooner than it will for me... hopefully things will be more normal. And Quinn just came back from her Nana's yesterday... her mom said she'll have to do extra work to make up for the assignment she missed. Which means she isn't allowed to have visitors or come over until she's caught up. *double sigh*

And Bre made a blog of her own. She says none of us (dolls) will be allowed to post on it. Not even me. Well, I suppose that's kinda fair, since I don't allow her to post on here really. Oh well. She also said any of you doll owners (and anyone else) are allowed to read it if you want.

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

Can I just have a huge sigh as my title?

Hi again guys, it's Quinn. =)

This weekend, I was supposed to go to LA with my Aunt Linda. She's modeling, and I was going to get to be her unofficial assistant. She was gonna even pay me! But I'd go for free, because I love being in that atmosphere. But I was supposed to do this book report for my mom and I kinda forgot. She got mad at me for slacking and I said she was being a little crazy. So no model's assistant weekend for me. =(

Instead I get to spend the weekend with my Nana. I love Nana and everything, but she's so strict! That's why Mom sends me and Ben here whenever we tick her off. The only reason I even get to post this right now is because Nana thinks I'm working on the book report. I sorta am, but I'm sorta also sulking.

And she calls me Mills. My real first name is Amelia (Quinn is my middle name), so she calls me Mills. Never mind the fact that I hate the name Amelia and any form of it. Honestly, how many jet setting model/fashion designers do you know that are named Amelia? I can think of like one.

Anyways, thanks for all the advice about my birthday, guys! I still haven't decided, but I liked some of your ideas. =) I'll keep ya posted!

Love, Quinn <3

Earth Day

Today was Earth Day, and to commemorate that my GS troop did a nature walk. It was really fun! I have a few pictures for you...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Bre made
this album about it... there are a few more fun Earth Day shots. It also has pictures of this other girl Molly's birthday party, which was going on right around the time I climbed the tree. I wasn't invited... But whatever... Girl Scouts was fun today for once.

Oh, and Quinn asked me to thank you all for the advice about her birthday! She's still taking suggestions, so if anyone didn't see
the last post, you can still leave her comments if ya want. =) She'll (hopefully be posting again) to let you know what's going on in her life... I know you don't all wanna hear about everything second hand. ;)

Earlier, I heard my sister Sarah arguing with my mom about this tiny skirt she wanted to wear out this evening. Mom wouldn't let her out the house... and she definitely wouldn't if she knew she was trying to go out with some boy. Even though they're 16, the twins aren't allowed to date yet, but they secretly do. (These girls have such exciting lives...) Well, the only reason I know all this is because Beth and Sarah got into it with each other, so Beth was actually being nice to me. They're always both nice to me when they fight with each other.

Well, I guess that's about all for now. Talk to you again soon. =)

Until next time,

Quinn here! Need some opinions.

Hey everyone! It's Quinn! Wendy is letting me post sometimes now too. This is my first official blogging, second if you count the one I wrote when Wendy was sick. I'm gonna try to come on here every now and then and talk to some of you... Wendy has told me so much about ya'll I feel like I know you too.

What I need opinions on is my birthday! It's coming up on June 1st, and I don't know what I wanna do. For my party, I mean. I've been given some options...

A. Have a sleepover. Would be fun, but we do that a lot!
B. Have a barbecue. Again, would be fun, but Wendy doesn't eat meat!
C. Have a picnic. Weather permitting, this would be great!
D. Go to a restaurant. I just think that might be too expensive...
E. Go to see a movie and out for pizza. Fun, but it's honestly been done before.

They'd all be great ways to spend my birthday, and that's probably why I can't decide! Which sounds most fun to you?

Love, Quinn <3

New clothes!

Bre got us some new clothes on eBay, and she asked me and Quinn to model for her.

Here is the album. Have a look! Quinn got to wear a formal gown, and I am wearing a skirt. (Yes, you read that correctly. =D)

We got to take a couple of pics of each other for fun. =)

Photobucket
^Quinn took this pic of me. My headshot.

Photobucket
^I took this one of Quinn. She wanted to look thoughtful.

Photobucket
^Bre took this one of us. She likes pics that make us look sweet. =P

In other news, I'm afraid I've gotten a little behind in my blog reading. I'm going to go catch up as soon as this posts. Talk to you all soon, and be sure to let me know what you think of the clothes and pics. I need to know if I have a future as a model. LOL!

Until next time,

A Sleepover at Quinn's House

I'm sleeping over at Quinn's tonight. Right now! But we're a little bored... we were in the front room having an all-night movie marathon but her mom came in and said we had to go to bed! We're in Quinn's room now, but we don't wanna go to sleep. We're doing everything we can to stay up and have fun... Quinn even put on some music and started dancing around the room like a crazy person. (You should have seen her... it was so funny =P) A while ago we actually went into Ben's room to see if he had any games to play. We played my Twister game earlier, but it's way more fun with more than two people. A few minutes before I started writing this, I found my sisters on myspace AND facebook (even though our parents say they aren't allowed to have either). They were set to private so I couldn't snoop. I can't even rat on them or they could tell about my blog, and I'm not really supposed to have this. Shhh...

A while ago we heard Aunt Linda sneaking in. She was out on a date with some guy... guess it went well. ;) Quinn asked her to go on a late night junk food run for us so we at least had lots of snacks.

We're gonna watch a dvd on my laptop now. Tomorrow night she's staying over at my house and we're gonna do it all over again. =)

Until next time,

The Play

Today our class put on the play I was telling you all about in my last post. All of the kids who weren't in the play (me and several others) got to have "backstage" jobs. I was in charge of the curtain. Claire, our Anne Frank, wasn't able to memorize all of her lines, and neither did most of the other kids. There were so many "ums" and "uhhs" on that stage. Our teacher was turning red, blue, green, and purple. Then, one of the other kids ran into me backstage and I fell, pulling the curtain down. A few parents in the audience began to clap, and the principal didn't let them go back on to finish the show. It was so sad.

Then, when the principal was handing out the awards, she called Claire up to get her perfect attendance certificate. When she was going up the stairs, she tripped on her shoelace and fell. She hit her face and got a bad nosebleed, and started crying. When we went back to class after the assembly to get our stuff, I tapped her on the shoulder and told her she was such a big baby. She grunted and stormed away... and it felt so good.

After school, I went with Quinn, Ben, and their mom to see a movie at this theater downtown. They have what they call the family matinee, which is always an old Disney movie. Today we saw Dumbo, which I hadn't seen since I was a really little kid.

But the really big news is that I'm now officially on spring break!! Yay!! Are you all on break too or did you already have it?

Until next time,

Anne Frank

We've been talking about World War II in history for the past week or so. I've always found this a pretty fascinating time period and I like studying it. (That's a big part of why I like Molly.) Anyways, our school is having an assembly for the academic awards this quarter, and our teacher volunteered our class to put on a play. And since we're studying WWII, she decided on The Diary of Anne Frank. The assembly is this friday, right before the break starts, and a lot of parents will be there. Because my teacher is really scatter brained and crazy, we didn't start rehearsing the play until today. (No, that wasn't a typo. Today.)

First thing this morning, she assigned parts. I was chosen to play Anne Frank. I was really honored at first, and then I realized I had been a) type cast, and b) completely bamboozled, as that part has A LOT of lines.

Well, before we started rehearsing, to give the class some background on the time period and what-not, we watched this film about the Holocaust. It was SO sad. I didn't mean to, but the film really upset me and I sorta started to cry a little. Not like bawling or anything, but still. This girl named Claire who sits next to me noticed and leaned over and called me "a stupid, overly-sensitive baby." And I wiped my eyes, and kinda without thinking accidentally called her a stupid little... well, I won't repeat the word, because it was kinda bad. And of course, I got in trouble. I didn't even mean to say it... I guess it's something I picked up from my sisters, since they jokingly call each other that at least 10 times a day. The punishment? Lunchtime detention for two days, a call home, and I lost my part in the play. The ironic bit? The new Anne Frank is CLAIRE. Whatever... I didn't want to be in a play anyways.

The good thing, I suppose is that my parents didn't get too mad. My mom told me to watch my mouth from now on (which I promise I will *angelic smile*) and my dad took one of my comics. (And that was only because he wanted to read it.)

Until next time,

A Spring Afternoon

It's been surprisingly Spring-like here lately. Where I live, it's really dry so the plant life isn't as pretty or healthy as we'd like, but we still try to enjoy it.

Yesterday, on Saturday, Quinn came over to play and we had planned to spend the whole afternoon outside looking for lady bugs or dandelions or even four leaf clovers. But instead, my mom told us to sit down on the porch and be still so we wouldn't sunburn or anything.
Photobucket

And that proved to be... really boring. So after a while, my mom found sun block, drenched us both in it, and allowed us to leave the shade. We went in to the lawn and searched for ages for anything fun, but all we found was grass.
Photobucket

We did notice that the buds on my mom's rose bushes looked like they'd bloom soon, but she doesn't allow anyone playing near her flowers (lol). After we got bored outside, we came back in and watched the movies Harriet the Spy and The Parent Trap. We made popcorn first, and I felt a bunch of energy so I started doing cartwheels and somersaults in the living room. Then my mom kinda yelled at me, but I didn't really care. LOL. If I took it personal every time she yelled at me, I'd have left home when I was like three.

If you happened to notice my new avatar, that's where it came from. =)

New Header (among other things)

First of all... what do you all think of my brand new header? =)

Also... are you all sitting down?
Photobucket
Photobucket
Yes... that's me in a dress! Bre got Molly's school outfit and thought I should try it on. I actually ended up wearing it to school. That's proof for everyone that doubted... it doesn't happen frequently, but yes, I do at times wear dresses! And this one was a jumper, which I don't mind as much.

Also, I'm going to be getting a special prize for selling the second most amount of cookies this year in my troop. I don't know what I'll get yet, but I'm pretty excited. Also, in a couple of weeks, my troop is going on a nature hike in the mountains. That'll be so fun! Our troop may also go to GS camp this summer. I don't know if I'm keen on that yet... I've never gone to stay away camp. But we'll see.

Quinn and I have decided to go into a sort of a business babysitting to make extra money. She has lots of experience, and I have junior first aid training from Girl Scouts, so we've actually got a few appointments lined up over the coming weekends. We're always going to sit together, that way the parents feel better about it. One lady asked us to watch her 12 year old daughter. Being that we're both 10, we definitely had to turn that one down.

Apart from school, that's nearly all that's going on with me... I'll get you up to date soon on how our business is coming along. =)

Until next time,

Adventures In Babysitting

Ben is so cool! I’m over here watching him right now, and we’re actually having fun. Earlier we watched Superman Returns… he loves comic books and superhero movies too. After that I made us veggie burgers and he didn’t even get mad that I wouldn’t feed him meat. After lunch he wanted to play outside, and we ended up playing tag with a little boy from next door. While we were outside it started to rain and he fell in the mud. I was worried he’d start to cry or something, but instead he thought it was funny! He’s in taking a bath now.

I was surprised that Ben was so much fun… he’s always such a pain when I’m over to play with Quinn. Maybe just because she’s his big sister and I’m not. I probably won’t tell her that we had a good time, but maybe next time I’m over here I won’t see him as such a pain. Maybe he’ll behave himself a little better.

Well, I gotta go now. I’m pretty sure I heard little wet feet touching tile flooring.

Yikes!

Quinn’s Aunt Linda is a model part time, and this weekend she has a gig in LA and she’s taking Quinn with her. I don’t live far from LA, and I’ve been lots of times before, but I kinda think it’d be really cool to go to something like that. Quinn is gonna have a lot of fun… I just know it. She loves fashion and modelling and that sort of thing. That's her dream - fashion designer or model, or both.

In the mean time, Quinn’s mom will be working Saturday afternoon, and with Linda and Quinn out of town there won’t be anyone to watch Ben, who is Quinn’s little brother. Well, guess who’s got her first babysitting gig? Me! I know Ben and everything, but I’m still a little worried that something could go wrong. Wish me luck!

A Valentine's Party

This afternoon, Quinn took me to a Valentine's Day party for the kids at her church. Well, it's really her aunt's church, and Quinn sometimes goes with her. Anyways, they had this party, and it was open to all the kids and everyone was allowed to bring a friend, so Quinn asked me. I was a little nervous about it... being Jewish, I don't have much experience with church functions...

But Quinn reassured me that it would just be a party for us kids, no pressure or anything, so I agreed to go. But then, I had to get permission to go, which is never as easy as it should be.

"Mom," I began. "Can I please go to a party with Quinn? I haven't been in trouble or anything, and I have all my weekend homework done..."

"Well, I don't know. You just got over being sick a while back. Who'd take you?" she probed.

I cringed. "Quinn's Aunt Linda." My mom kinda thinks Aunt Linda is too young and fun to be left in charge of the kids while Quinn's mom is working.

"Oh. Well... maybe you can go if she brings you home early and sees to it that you have dinner, and not just junk food," Mom began. I smiled and tried to leave, thinking I was home free. But, then the other shoe dropped. "Where is this party, Wendy?"

"St. Francis," I choked.

Mom looked puzzled. "St. Francis the school? Or St. Francis the church?"

"Does it matter?" I sheepishly asked.

"Wendy Madelyn, you are not going to a party at a church. It would be lying," mom reasoned.

Well, I'll save you from having to read the whole discussion, because it was lengthy, and involved a lot of whining on my part and a phone call to Aunt Linda. But, after about an hour, she finally agreed.

After that, I walked over to Quinn's house dressed in my party gear. Quinn took one look at me, and begged me to let her dress me up. I figured I'd let her just this once. When she was all done with me, I looked like... well, like she had dressed me. Not so bad though, I guess. She looked great as usual, since she's really into this whole fashion thing. But I gotta say, most of the stuff she's allowed to wear would give my parents a heart attack.

Photobucket

The party was great though. There was lots of food and sodas and fun treats. They played lots of music, and some kids danced. Quinn and I, and a couple of girls she knew, had fun people-watching. Then everyone played tag on the huge church grounds when it got dark, and that was most fun. We ran around like mad and a few kids crashed into one another, but no one got hurt and everyone laughed like crazy.

We had more fun that I ever would have expected. When I came home smiling, my parents were happy they'd let me go. I didn't tell them about the running around or all the soda and sweets, but what they don't know won't hurt them. =)

After the party Quinn came to my place with me, and she brought her DVD of Camp Rock. She was stunned when I said I hadn't seen it. It was... better than High School Musical (which I don't like much at all), but still. It's kinda HSMish in that it's more fun when you're watching it for the sake of making fun of it. And the movie ended in time to see the Jonas Brothers on SNL. I must admit, those guys are wearing me down... I'm starting to like them. And they were in a couple of skits (in addition to playing a couple of songs) and they were actually pretty funny.

Anyways, I gotta go now. Quinn's asleep and I'm technically supposed to be too. Happy (late) V-Day, everyone!

12 Things

So, I got inspired by a whole bunch of you guys posting your lists, so I figured I'd make one too. I just remembered that my first post (The Basics) is kinda like this, but since those aren't too random, I figured I'd make another list. =) And why 12? Well.... it's my favorite number!

1. I used to want to live on a farm when I grow up. Part of me still does.

2. I love watching fairytales, but I would never want to live one. If I had my choice, I'd really rather be Lois Lane... or Wonder Woman!

3. As far as personality, I'm way more like my dad than my mom.

4. Last year during Hannukah, there was a party for all us kids at Hebrew school. I won the dreidel showdown and stuffed myself with gelt (chocolate coins).

5. I want to go to college one day. I haven't decided where yet.

6. I wish I had a dog. My parents say no.

7. I'm pretty good at computer solitaire, but with real cards I'm lost.

8. My worst quality is that I procrastinate too much.
I've also been known to complain. But I do always try to make the best of things...

9. I'm kind of a night owl.

10. My best friend Quinn is the most honest and trustworthy person I've ever known. And I'd gladly give both of my sisters to have her instead. =P

11. I hate that Nancy Drew movie that came out a while back. I think they got Nancy all wrong...

12. My biggest guilty pleasure? McDonald's french fries. I don't know why, but I think they're the best fries around.

A Sick Day.

Photobucket

Hi everyone! This is Quinn, filling in for Wendy. She's sick right now... she even had to stay home from school. She had an asthma attack the other day and she's still feeling bad. I'm at her house right now keeping her company... she said I could come on here and let you all know what's going on with her and say hello.

Anyways, we've been watching movies most of the day today. First was Peter Pan since it's Wendy's favorite. Her mom said she's named after that Wendy. Isn't that cool? And apparently, the author of Peter Pan, JM Barrie, is the one who kinda made up and popularized the name Wendy. He had a family friend that called him "friendy" but pronounced it fwendy. I told her I was gonna start calling her Fwendy, but she didn't really like that idea. ;)

After the movies, we played with our dolls for a while. She had Molly and I had my reproduction vintage Barbie. I think those older dolls are SO much prettier than the new ones... and classier too. Well, anyways, we played this game Wendy made up called Super Dolly Death Fights Z. (She makes up a lot of games when she's really bored, lol.) I'm not too crazy about this game though... she always made herself the referee so she won every single time. If she had been feeling well, I might have challenged that. =) She was just mad because her mom made me a cup of hot chocolate but she couldn't have any since the milk would make her feel worse. Oh well.

She's asleep now... I'm going to be really quiet so I don't disturb her. Her mom said I'll have to go home if I keep her from getting her rest.

I hope Wendy is all better tomorrow and can go back to school... if she's all better then we can go back to having fun. XD

That's all for now I guess. Everyone send well wishes this way and Wendy can catch you up on everything that she's been up to!

Guatemalan Goodies!!

A friend of my mom's spent her winter holiday in Guatemala, and she brought home the cutest little dollies! They're handmade. There were 4 dolls, a cat, and a horse. Here are the dollies:

Quinn was over at my house when we got the dollies, and after homework (math for me, and reading for her... her mom wants a book report by Friday) we got to play with them. We each picked our favorite right away.

I like unique toys like that. Especially things from far away places!

Homework misadventures.

I've been having trouble doing my homework. Keeping my concentration up. But it's sooo boring! Can you really blame me? I'm only human!

Want the full story? Here's the album!

And... just as a point of interest...

School takes up too much time. I'd really love to just be able to read comics, hang out with Quinn, and write. *sigh* Some day I will have the life of leisure I deserve...
