Ben is so cool! I’m over here watching him right now, and we’re actually having fun. Earlier we watched Superman Returns… he loves comic books and superhero movies too. After that I made us veggie burgers and he didn’t even get mad that I wouldn’t feed him meat. After lunch he wanted to play outside, and we ended up playing tag with a little boy from next door. While we were outside it started to rain and he fell in the mud. I was worried he’d start to cry or something, but instead he thought it was funny! He’s in taking a bath now.
I was surprised that Ben was so much fun… he’s always such a pain when I’m over to play with Quinn. Maybe just because she’s his big sister and I’m not. I probably won’t tell her that we had a good time, but maybe next time I’m over here I won’t see him as such a pain. Maybe he’ll behave himself a little better.
Well, I gotta go now. I’m pretty sure I heard little wet feet touching tile flooring.
Until next time,

Yikes!
Quinn’s Aunt Linda is a model part time, and this weekend she has a gig in LA and she’s taking Quinn with her. I don’t live far from LA, and I’ve been lots of times before, but I kinda think it’d be really cool to go to something like that. Quinn is gonna have a lot of fun… I just know it. She loves fashion and modelling and that sort of thing. That's her dream - fashion designer or model, or both.
In the mean time, Quinn’s mom will be working Saturday afternoon, and with Linda and Quinn out of town there won’t be anyone to watch Ben, who is Quinn’s little brother. Well, guess who’s got her first babysitting gig? Me! I know Ben and everything, but I’m still a little worried that something could go wrong. Wish me luck!

A Valentine's Party
This afternoon, Quinn took me to a Valentine's Day party for the kids at her church. Well, it's really her aunt's church, and Quinn sometimes goes with her. Anyways, they had this party, and it was open to all the kids and everyone was allowed to bring a friend, so Quinn asked me. I was a little nervous about it... being Jewish, I don't have much experience with church functions...
But Quinn reassured me that it would just be a party for us kids, no pressure or anything, so I agreed to go. But then, I had to get permission to go, which is never as easy as it should be.
"Mom," I began. "Can I please go to a party with Quinn? I haven't been in trouble or anything, and I have all my weekend homework done..."
"Well, I don't know. You just got over being sick a while back. Who'd take you?" she probed.
I cringed. "Quinn's Aunt Linda." My mom kinda thinks Aunt Linda is too young and fun to be left in charge of the kids while Quinn's mom is working.
"Oh. Well... maybe you can go if she brings you home early and sees to it that you have dinner, and not just junk food," Mom began. I smiled and tried to leave, thinking I was home free. But, then the other shoe dropped. "Where is this party, Wendy?"
"St. Francis," I choked.
Mom looked puzzled. "St. Francis the school? Or St. Francis the church?"
"Does it matter?" I sheepishly asked.
"Wendy Madelyn, you are not going to a party at a church. It would be lying," mom reasoned.
Well, I'll save you from having to read the whole discussion, because it was lengthy, and involved a lot of whining on my part and a phone call to Aunt Linda. But, after about an hour, she finally agreed.
After that, I walked over to Quinn's house dressed in my party gear. Quinn took one look at me, and begged me to let her dress me up. I figured I'd let her just this once. When she was all done with me, I looked like... well, like she had dressed me. Not so bad though, I guess. She looked great as usual, since she's really into this whole fashion thing. But I gotta say, most of the stuff she's allowed to wear would give my parents a heart attack.
The party was great though. There was lots of food and sodas and fun treats. They played lots of music, and some kids danced. Quinn and I, and a couple of girls she knew, had fun people-watching. Then everyone played tag on the huge church grounds when it got dark, and that was most fun. We ran around like mad and a few kids crashed into one another, but no one got hurt and everyone laughed like crazy.
We had more fun that I ever would have expected. When I came home smiling, my parents were happy they'd let me go. I didn't tell them about the running around or all the soda and sweets, but what they don't know won't hurt them. =)
After the party Quinn came to my place with me, and she brought her DVD of Camp Rock. She was stunned when I said I hadn't seen it. It was... better than High School Musical (which I don't like much at all), but still. It's kinda HSMish in that it's more fun when you're watching it for the sake of making fun of it. And the movie ended in time to see the Jonas Brothers on SNL. I must admit, those guys are wearing me down... I'm starting to like them. And they were in a couple of skits (in addition to playing a couple of songs) and they were actually pretty funny.
Anyways, I gotta go now. Quinn's asleep and I'm technically supposed to be too. Happy (late) V-Day, everyone!

12 Things
So, I got inspired by a whole bunch of you guys posting your lists, so I figured I'd make one too. I just remembered that my first post (The Basics) is kinda like this, but since those aren't too random, I figured I'd make another list. =) And why 12? Well.... it's my favorite number!
1. I used to want to live on a farm when I grow up. Part of me still does.
2. I love watching fairytales, but I would never want to live one. If I had my choice, I'd really rather be Lois Lane... or Wonder Woman!
3. As far as personality, I'm way more like my dad than my mom.
4. Last year during Hannukah, there was a party for all us kids at Hebrew school. I won the dreidel showdown and stuffed myself with gelt (chocolate coins).
5. I want to go to college one day. I haven't decided where yet.
6. I wish I had a dog. My parents say no.
7. I'm pretty good at computer solitaire, but with real cards I'm lost.
8. My worst quality is that I procrastinate too much. I've also been known to complain. But I do always try to make the best of things...
9. I'm kind of a night owl.
10. My best friend Quinn is the most honest and trustworthy person I've ever known. And I'd gladly give both of my sisters to have her instead. =P
11. I hate that Nancy Drew movie that came out a while back. I think they got Nancy all wrong...
12. My biggest guilty pleasure? McDonald's french fries. I don't know why, but I think they're the best fries around.
Until next time,

A Sick Day.
Hi everyone! This is Quinn, filling in for Wendy. She's sick right now... she even had to stay home from school. She had an asthma attack the other day and she's still feeling bad. I'm at her house right now keeping her company... she said I could come on here and let you all know what's going on with her and say hello.
Anyways, we've been watching movies most of the day today. First was Peter Pan since it's Wendy's favorite. Her mom said she's named after that Wendy. Isn't that cool? And apparently, the author of Peter Pan, JM Barrie, is the one who kinda made up and popularized the name Wendy. He had a family friend that called him "friendy" but pronounced it fwendy. I told her I was gonna start calling her Fwendy, but she didn't really like that idea. ;)
After the movies, we played with our dolls for a while. She had Molly and I had my reproduction vintage Barbie. I think those older dolls are SO much prettier than the new ones... and classier too. Well, anyways, we played this game Wendy made up called Super Dolly Death Fights Z. (She makes up a lot of games when she's really bored, lol.) I'm not too crazy about this game though... she always made herself the referee so she won every single time. If she had been feeling well, I might have challenged that. =) She was just mad because her mom made me a cup of hot chocolate but she couldn't have any since the milk would make her feel worse. Oh well.
She's asleep now... I'm going to be really quiet so I don't disturb her. Her mom said I'll have to go home if I keep her from getting her rest.
I hope Wendy is all better tomorrow and can go back to school... if she's all better then we can go back to having fun. XD
That's all for now I guess. Everyone send well wishes this way and Wendy can catch you up on everything that she's been up to!
Love, Quinn <3
