Meet Claudia, Stacey, and Mary Anne: 3/4 of the BSC!

As promised, I'm here to introduce you to Bre's pet project: the Baby-Sitters Club! We all adore the books (Bre grew up on them as much as AG) and she had been on a mad spell of re-reading the books. At a certain point, she decided she wanted BSC dolls. They actually made real BSC dolls in the 90s (which Bre wanted so badly at the time) but although they're 18 inches, they aren't proportioned like AG. So, that began the project we're going to show you today. I had planned to wait until I have Kristy (and probably Dawn) as well to show them, but due to finances, that will probably not be for a LOOOONG while.

Small blog changes, Hanukkah, and new doll!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but life has been crazy here. Bre's mom was in the hospital, but she's out now and doing better. Thanksgiving here was lovely... we still have leftovers!

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I've sorta streamlined my blog friends list. I have everyone on there now, but as Sophie suggested, I've got it to only show the most recently updated 10. That's simply because it'll be easier to read that way. Thanks everyone!

As you all probably know by now, Hanukkah is in full swing... more than halfway over. As oldest Jewish doll, I've been in charge of lighting the menorah. It's pretty cool. =) Guess what Bre's getting me! I'm finally getting my Hanukkah outfit! The oooold AGOT one from 1996 - with the white sweater and blue skirt. I'm not sure if it'll be here in time even for the end of Hanukkah, but I'm going to wear it anyways! =D

Last night Bre was able to order her Christmas doll from her mom. She's getting Felicity! She's also gotten other dolls recently. She bought a Gotz Little Sister Tess from a board member, and the night before Thanksgiving she got two Journey Girls dolls from TRU. She now has her first three Babysitters Club members in doll form! Their names are Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey. They're all 12 years old, and I look forward to introducing them to you soon.

Love you all, and hope to talk soon!
Your friend, Wendy S.

Entry for the Bolton Girls contest - Best friends

Photobucket

Quinn is my very best friend. Although we both have other friends now, she'll always be the most special person in the world to me. This picture is from last year when we went to my school carnival together and got our faces painted and bought our crazy best friend hats from the rummage sale. =) This winter, Quinn and I are hoping to spend a lot of time together. We definitely want to do all our gift shopping together... which will be fun because I celebrate Hanukkah and she celebrates Christmas, so we get to shop double. We've saved all of our babysitting money for this. We'll probably watch holiday movies together, and I know we'll have a big cookie baking day. It would be nice if we got snow here to build snowmen and that sort of thing, but even in the dead of winter, we can still play outside when without wearing much more than a good sweater, so we'll get to do most of the same stuff we do in the fall. As always, I'm looking forward to hanging out with her! Thanks for reading this!

Minding the baby.

Yesterday Bre asked Taylor and me to mind baby Noah, and we were really excited to do it. So we got dressed in our babysitting outfits, and set out to do our job.

We took her outdoors to enjoy some sun. We sat on the bench in Bre's front yard, and watched the traffic.

Noah wanted to play in the dry fallen leaves, but we put her in the grass since that's softer.

We came back inside when it got late and helped her build a pyramid with her blocks.

Finally, she got tired and we laid her on Bre's puppy pillow for a nap.

Isn't she cute and sweet? Taylor is a good babysitting partner too. =) Oh, Bre asked me to answer a question for her. A couple people wanted to know the meaning behind Noah's name... she said she picked the name Noah Margaret because she doesn't like a lot of the current popular baby names. She prefers old fashioned names, but she wanted to have it be a little unique, so she picked Noah, which is usually a boy's name, but sometimes a girl's name too.

Until next time,

New Header (among other things)

First of all... what do you all think of my brand new header? =)

Also... are you all sitting down?

Yes... that's me in a dress! Bre got Molly's school outfit and thought I should try it on. I actually ended up wearing it to school. That's proof for everyone that doubted... it doesn't happen frequently, but yes, I do at times wear dresses! And this one was a jumper, which I don't mind as much.

Also, I'm going to be getting a special prize for selling the second most amount of cookies this year in my troop. I don't know what I'll get yet, but I'm pretty excited. Also, in a couple of weeks, my troop is going on a nature hike in the mountains. That'll be so fun! Our troop may also go to GS camp this summer. I don't know if I'm keen on that yet... I've never gone to stay away camp. But we'll see.

Quinn and I have decided to go into a sort of a business babysitting to make extra money. She has lots of experience, and I have junior first aid training from Girl Scouts, so we've actually got a few appointments lined up over the coming weekends. We're always going to sit together, that way the parents feel better about it. One lady asked us to watch her 12 year old daughter. Being that we're both 10, we definitely had to turn that one down.

Apart from school, that's nearly all that's going on with me... I'll get you up to date soon on how our business is coming along. =)

Until next time,

Adventures In Babysitting

Ben is so cool! I’m over here watching him right now, and we’re actually having fun. Earlier we watched Superman Returns… he loves comic books and superhero movies too. After that I made us veggie burgers and he didn’t even get mad that I wouldn’t feed him meat. After lunch he wanted to play outside, and we ended up playing tag with a little boy from next door. While we were outside it started to rain and he fell in the mud. I was worried he’d start to cry or something, but instead he thought it was funny! He’s in taking a bath now.

I was surprised that Ben was so much fun… he’s always such a pain when I’m over to play with Quinn. Maybe just because she’s his big sister and I’m not. I probably won’t tell her that we had a good time, but maybe next time I’m over here I won’t see him as such a pain. Maybe he’ll behave himself a little better.

Well, I gotta go now. I’m pretty sure I heard little wet feet touching tile flooring.

Until next time,

Yikes!

Quinn’s Aunt Linda is a model part time, and this weekend she has a gig in LA and she’s taking Quinn with her. I don’t live far from LA, and I’ve been lots of times before, but I kinda think it’d be really cool to go to something like that. Quinn is gonna have a lot of fun… I just know it. She loves fashion and modelling and that sort of thing. That's her dream - fashion designer or model, or both.

In the mean time, Quinn’s mom will be working Saturday afternoon, and with Linda and Quinn out of town there won’t be anyone to watch Ben, who is Quinn’s little brother. Well, guess who’s got her first babysitting gig? Me! I know Ben and everything, but I’m still a little worried that something could go wrong. Wish me luck!

Until next time,
