Meet Claudia, Stacey, and Mary Anne: 3/4 of the BSC!

As promised, I'm here to introduce you to Bre's pet project: the Baby-Sitters Club! We all adore the books (Bre grew up on them as much as AG) and she had been on a mad spell of re-reading the books. At a certain point, she decided she wanted BSC dolls. They actually made real BSC dolls in the 90s (which Bre wanted so badly at the time) but although they're 18 inches, they aren't proportioned like AG. So, that began the project we're going to show you today. I had planned to wait until I have Kristy (and probably Dawn) as well to show them, but due to finances, that will probably not be for a LOOOONG while.

Bre's post: My year through doll collecting

Hello everyone! This is Wendy's ne'er-do-well person Bre. =) Merry Christmas (Eve)!

With the year coming to a close, and Felicity packed up under the tree for me to open in the morning, I've gotten to thinking about my doll collection. This year was rather different than the last couple of years. Let's see.

I got three new AG dolls (not counting Lissie). Marisol I got at the beginning of summer for graduation. Amira (#11) and Brittany (#7) came to me at the same time, which was the first time I'd ever gotten two AGs at once.

I got more non-AG dolls than ever before. I never had any other 18 inch dolls before this year... I now have 5! The first was Claire, who is an Our Generation doll. I got Allie (Gotz precious day) on sale at Tuesday Morning not long after getting Marisol. I got my two Journey Girls, Claudia and Stacey, from TRU to be members of my doll sized Baby-sitters Club. Mary Anne (Gotz Little Sister Tess) is also a babysitter, but I got her from a board member.

This was the first year in two years I didn't ask for an AG for my birthday. I got an Ellowyne Wilde doll instead. (Which reminds me... I should really take pictures of her...)

With #11 and Tess (or Amira and Mary Anne) I got two dolls I had been wanting for a couple of years. Because I don't tend to see them on the secondary market often, I didn't think I'd have them anytime soon, but I got them both in a relatively short amount of time. And I wasn't looking for them at the time.

I've also gotten back into play line Barbies in a big bad way. This is probably the first year in many years that I bought a pink box Barbie doll (or several, rather) to go with my vintage and collectible Barbie collection.

I feel like there's probably like a pattern I should be looking for in my collecting habits, but I'm too dense to really make any kind of connection. =P Would be interested in hearing your collecting habits as well!

Love, Bre, aka BuckinghamAlice

Stop motion video: Rockin Around the Christmas Tree

Hey everyone! Bre made a new stop motion video with some of the dolls having a little Christmas themed fun. I'm not in it (so it's not as good as it might have been...) but it's still pretty cool. This is only her second stop motion vid, so she's still working on those skills. Anyways, give it a watch, click like and all that other stuff. Thanks!

Holiday outfits

So Bre has this thing about us all having holiday outfits, if possible. But because she's gotten new dolls without remembering to get stuff for them to wear around the holidays, she's short a few. So what are everyone's favorite holiday outfits? They can be AG, non-AG, current, or retired. Just need some suggestions. Thanks!

Small blog changes, Hanukkah, and new doll!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but life has been crazy here. Bre's mom was in the hospital, but she's out now and doing better. Thanksgiving here was lovely... we still have leftovers!

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I've sorta streamlined my blog friends list. I have everyone on there now, but as Sophie suggested, I've got it to only show the most recently updated 10. That's simply because it'll be easier to read that way. Thanks everyone!

As you all probably know by now, Hanukkah is in full swing... more than halfway over. As oldest Jewish doll, I've been in charge of lighting the menorah. It's pretty cool. =) Guess what Bre's getting me! I'm finally getting my Hanukkah outfit! The oooold AGOT one from 1996 - with the white sweater and blue skirt. I'm not sure if it'll be here in time even for the end of Hanukkah, but I'm going to wear it anyways! =D

Last night Bre was able to order her Christmas doll from her mom. She's getting Felicity! She's also gotten other dolls recently. She bought a Gotz Little Sister Tess from a board member, and the night before Thanksgiving she got two Journey Girls dolls from TRU. She now has her first three Babysitters Club members in doll form! Their names are Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey. They're all 12 years old, and I look forward to introducing them to you soon.

Love you all, and hope to talk soon!
Your friend, Wendy S.
