Shopping for Quinn's birthday

Today was the last day of school! It was great. All the fifth graders in school (from all three classes) were given a big party in the playground. There was so much ice cream and pizza! I almost burst! We finished up our tests and stuff yesterday, and turned in our big history papers. We were allowed to chose any American historical figure and write a big paper about them and what they accomplished. But the catch was that girls had to choose women and boys had to pick men. (I told you my teacher was weird.) I wrote about Abigail Adams.

Meanwhile, tomorrow Nicki and I are going shopping for Quinn's birthday presents tomorrow. I think Nicki already knows what she wants to get her, but I have no idea! What should I get her?

Until next time,

Sixth Grade Schedule

Today I was notified at school that I will be receiving the Mary G. Lee Principal's Award this Thursday at the fifth grade award ceremony. Mary G. Lee was the very first principal at my school (Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary), and the award is given each year to a fifth grade girl who shows creativity, effort, and leadership. I'm really proud... I never saw this coming!

We were also given our schedules for fall.

1st/2nd Period - English and Language Arts
3rd Period - Math
4th Period - P.E.
5th Period - Science
6th Period - Social Studies (History)
7th Period - Reading

I got another surprise on my schedule... I was placed in GATE/Honors. GATE stands for Gifted and Talented Education, and you know what Honors means. Since when am I smart? LOL It turns out that Claire (yes, the mean one) is in 1st/2nd, 4th, and 7th with me. UGH!! I called Nicki (who got her schedule in the mail) and she's in 1st/2nd, 3rd, and 6th with me. We get along pretty well now, so I'll be glad to have her in my classes. But Claire? YUCK! No thank you.

It will indeed be an interesting three years at Antongiovanni Middle School.

Until next time,

My birthday plans!

Photobucket

Hello all! It's me, Quinn! I'm glad to be posting on here again after everything is chill again with me and Wendy. I missed you guys!

So, I've decided what I want to do for my birthday! We'll be having a picnic outside, and then having a sleepover. We're gonna try to stay up all night! It'll be me (obviously), Wendy (of course), Nicki, my brother Ben (since he lives here), and I don't know who else. There are a couple of other girls at church I talk to, but they aren't really friends. There is one girl in my apartment building I like, but her mom would never allow her to come to a sleepover. When Wendy and I first started babysitting, her mom asked us to watch her, and she's 12!

Anyways, I'm making a playlist of different songs to play at my party. We've all picked a few so far.
I'm gonna try to think of some more songs so we can have a really diverse playlist. I can't wait for my party!

My picks: "Love Story" and "Picture to Burn" by Taylor Swift, "How It Feels" by Eleventyseven, "Hot and Cold" by Katy Perry

Wendy's picks
: "Fences" and "Decode" by Paramore, "All Around Me" by Flyleaf

Nicki's picks
: "Paranoid" by the Jonas Brothers, "I Know" by Drake Bell, "Crush" by David Archuleta

Ben's picks: "I,2,3,4" by the Plain White Ts, "Here Comes Goodbye" by Rascal Flatts

Love, Quinn <3

(BTW, if you saw another post on this blog that was here briefly (about Bob Dylan), just ignore it! Bre posted it on here by accident and then deleted it... and Wendy isn't ever supposed to know it even happened. Shh!)

Nicki... my... friend? Ish?

So I found out more about Nicki. She's from Colorado, and she used to live on a ranch with her parents, younger brother, and younger twin sisters. Yeah, twin sisters! She's lucky they aren't older. She moved her recently because her grandmother (who lives here) needed help around the house. And she couldn't turn her grandma down. So she had to leave her family and all her friends... but here she is. She has this amazing horse named Jackson... he's gorgeous! He was in Colorado until this past weekend. Her parents agreed to have him stabled here for her so she could visit him anytime. We were at a troop meeting yesterday when she asked me if I wanted to go with her to see him. She even said maybe I could ride him some time, but since I have never ridden any kind of animal, I don't think I'll be taking her up on that any time soon.

I don't know though... we are in a kind of friendly place now. She's nicer than I ever thought. It's nice having someone on my troop who is, at the very least, an ally. A lot of the girls on my troop are really stuck up.

But best of all... I'm happy to say I'm no longer best friendless. Quinn and I made up. After our visit to the stable, Nicki and I went to her house, and after about 10 minutes Quinn showed. Turns out that Nicki invited us both over without telling the other. We saw each other and just resumed normalcy. *happy* So, I have my best friend back thanks to the one person I thought was going to steal her away.

Until next time,

Fifth Grade Tour and Quinn-In-The-Middle

I'm sorry I haven't been on here to tell you all about everything that happened with me in the last little while. I was busy all day Thursday, and Friday was my parents' wedding anniversary. Then I got grounded on Saturday morning, lol.

Anyways, Thursday was the day all of us fifth graders went to tour our new junior high. We were divided into groups of three and given to sixth graders who had volunteered to lead us around for the day. And guess who I was grouped with? Claire (remember the mean girl who made fun of me for crying about the Holocaust and then wiped out during the play?) and Nicki. Nicki is homeschooled right now because she moved too late in the school year to be able to catch up, but she'll be coming to our school this fall. The girl who was chosen to lead us around was a girl who lives in Quinn's apartment building. She's pretty mean... from what I hear, she's kinda a nightmare. She was really dismissive with us while she was showing us around... not necessarily mean, but she certainly wasn't nice. Meanwhile, Claire and I haven't talked to each other since everything happened with the play, but that day she was trying to be really friendly toward me. It was weird... I pretty much just ignored her. And Nicki pretty much ignored me.

The school seems nice... no lockers or playground, but the library is open at lunch and they have internet (which you can use for 15 minutes at a time) and a pretty good selection of manga books. I met the woman who will be my English teacher and the man who will be my Math teacher. They seemed pretty okay. They have a marching and concert band, and the director seems really cool. That was about all... it was a lot more uneventful than I had expected.

Friday was the first time since the carnival Quinn spoke to me. She called to say she wouldn't be coming to my parents' anniversary dinner and to tell me that I need to know that she can have more than one friend and that I don't own her. I didn't know what to say... of course I know I don't own her! And I don't care how many friends she has... I just don't think that she should ignore me because someone new comes along. I told her that if she didn't think more of me than that, I didn't want her as a friend anyways. So we haven't talked since then.

But you know who I have talked to? Nicki! We had a Girl Scout thing on Saturday, and she sat by me while we ate lunch. Neither of us said anything for a long time... until we were done eating, actually. But we sorta came to an agreement after that.
"I just want you to know that I'm not the kind of person that would ever steal someone's best friend," she began.
"It doesn't matter anyways," I said. "She's not speaking to me."
Nicki sighed. "I don't want to mess things up. I just wanted to have a friend. I don't know a lot of people here yet..."
"I'm not trying to keep you and Quinn from being friends! It's not like I have a problem with you or something," I insisted. "I just don't want her to forget about me!"
"Well," Nicki began, "how about we make a deal? If I get Quinn to make up with you, we could share her. Then I wouldn't have to feel like the loser new girl and you wouldn't have to be best friendless." We shook on it.

So... I guess Nicki and I are okay. But I don't know about me and Quinn. She hasn't talked to me. Nicki said she talked to her, but I'm not seeing any results. What can I do?

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

P.S. I'm sorry this was so long! You guys know how I tend to ramble, lol...

The carnival and how it turned sour.

Well, the carnival finally happened yesterday. It went okay at first, but then not so well. Quinn and I were having a lot of fun. We bought these stupid sunflower hats from the rummage sale and we got our faces painted. We ate a lot of junk food and played a lot of silly games. We won some silly little prizes too.

And then Nicki showed up. And Quinn forgot all about me. I've been replaced before, but never so quickly. What am I gonna do?

Take a look at the album and you can see more or less how everything happened.

Anyways, tomorrow afternoon is the junior high tour. I'm hoping to find out good things about my soon to be new school. *sigh*

Until next time,

The carnival is back on!

Remember how I told you guys that they cancelled our school carnival because of the freak rainstorm? Well, it's back on! It's going to be this Tuesday, and I can't wait wait! It sucks that it's in the middle of the week, but that was the only day they could do it. But it will still rock. =) I'll be sure to post and tell you all about it.

Also, the Thursday after the carnival will be junior high tour day. All of us fifth graders will go to the jhs we'll be attending this fall for a tour. My sisters said they'll pair each of us off with a sixth grader who'll take us around the school and whatnot. I'm not too happy about having to go to a new school... I've been going to Eleanor Roosevelt since I was in kindergarten! I've heard good things and bad things about the school I'll attend... I just wish I had some friends going there. But as far as friends go, I have a few kids at school that I talk to and don't really mind, but my only real friend is Quinn. And she's homeschooled. *sigh* Do you think it'll be three years of awful or do I have a chance?

Until next time,

Dog sitting!

Hey again! Quinn here. Today, one of the women from my apartment building had to be gone all day, so she paid me to watch her dog Coconut. Wendy and I took him to the park. What fun!

Photobucket

Coconut was a nice and fun doggy. I wish I could have a dog. In our apartments you have to pay $500 to get a pet permit to have a dog or cat live with you. So my mom has put her foot down about that. *sigh* But at least I had fun dog sitting today, and I got paid. =)

Love, Quinn <3

May Day and the Ridiculous Weather

Today is May Day! My school was supposed to have a May Day carnival today. The carnivals at school are fun... all the kids get released after lunch to the carnival, that way all the kids can come. But then at night, it's really wonderful. There are tons of games, and face painting... and a cake walk! All the lights go on and there are a lot of fun things to do. And there's food everywhere... it's just so much fun. Quinn and Ben were going to come with my family this evening.

But... one thing the school didn't know when the carnival got planned was that the weather is horrible! It's been windy and rainy and plain awful all day! This morning the principal announced that the carnival had to be postponed because of the weather and everything. We may not have it at all now. =/

And I'm not the only one getting fun stuff cancelled. Bre's Anthropology class was going on a field trip to the Zoo tomorrow, but she isn't able to go now.

So Quinn and I are just gonna be watching movies and stuff tonight. That'll still be fun, right? =)

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO
