Remember how I told you guys that they cancelled our school carnival because of the freak rainstorm? Well, it's back on! It's going to be this Tuesday, and I can't wait wait! It sucks that it's in the middle of the week, but that was the only day they could do it. But it will still rock. =) I'll be sure to post and tell you all about it.
Also, the Thursday after the carnival will be junior high tour day. All of us fifth graders will go to the jhs we'll be attending this fall for a tour. My sisters said they'll pair each of us off with a sixth grader who'll take us around the school and whatnot. I'm not too happy about having to go to a new school... I've been going to Eleanor Roosevelt since I was in kindergarten! I've heard good things and bad things about the school I'll attend... I just wish I had some friends going there. But as far as friends go, I have a few kids at school that I talk to and don't really mind, but my only real friend is Quinn. And she's homeschooled. *sigh* Do you think it'll be three years of awful or do I have a chance?
Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO
Hey Wendy, good luck with the carnival, hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteAs for junior high, you probably have no better example than yours truly. I started last August. There's some good and some bad, I guess that's with every junior high school. I was afraid when I started, too. Read my earlier blog posts for how I prepped for junior high. It changes you, big time. I think I've changed even from August to now.
The buddy program at your school is a good idea. I'm thinking about setting up one for some of the 5th graders coming in next year. I met a few at the Open House, and Lindsey will be at Adams next year along with Kit. Good luck with your tour and see you next month!
XOXO
Haley

I'm glad the carnival is back on! I hope you have fun :) I can't wait to hear all about it. Don't worry about going to junior high. The teachers are harder on you (most of the time), and if you haven't been switching classes every hour you will be in junior high. One thing I had to get used to was the timing! You have to figure out just how much time you have. Here at Mondale we have 4 minutes in between classes. You have to run to your locket, get your books etc. then go to your class. I'm kind of slow, so I was late a few times.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! It isn't that bad once you get used to it.

Can't wait to here about the carnival! As for junior high...I'm about to be 11 on may 23 so I can't tell you. Sorry!

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone... I try not to worry much about it. I'll let you all know about the carnival (of course!) and about junior high after we tour it on thursday.
ReplyDeleteYou're gonna see Haley?
ReplyDeleteYep, she's coming to stay with us for a couple of weeks when school ends! =)
