Back to School Pictures

Bre made this new album with all our back to school pictures. Can you believe I'm in 7th grade? I feel so old.

The album is here.

Claire... being nice?

If you read my blog very often, you might remember Claire. She goes to my school, and she's sort of a bully. But she went to summer camp this year, and when she came home, she started being nice. To everyone (even me!). I sorta think it's because she's in a bit of a lurch at school now (school, which, btw started up again last monday)... one of her friends from last year moved and the other one (who was an 8th grader) graduated. So she needs followers... but I don't plan to be one of them.

Claire is an Our Generation Sydney Lee doll who came to live here just before Marisol. She used to be the meanest girl I knew, but lately she hasn't been. Am I wrong not to trust her when she says she's turned over a new leaf?

Maybe I am, but better safe than sorry, right?

Instant Karma

Hi friends... I'm back with yet another page in the book of War with Claire. Today in class, during a quiz on the weekend reading assignment, I dropped my pen on the floor and I leaned over to pick it up. When I leaned over, Claire, who sits next to me, shot her hand up and swore that I was cheating and trying to see her paper. (If I was to cheat, however, it wouldn't be on Claire's paper... she gets bad grades.) I tried to deny it, but the teacher made me move to the front of the class. The dunce seat. A minute or two later, Miss Lamb started collecting papers from whoever was finished, and Claire was one of the first done. After she handed in her paper, she pulled out her notebook and scribbled something on a piece of paper, tore it out, crumpled it, and threw it at Nicki. Miss Lamb saw this and figured Claire and Nicki were cheating, but when she read the paper she saw that it only said "hillbilly loser," which is what Claire often calls Nicki. Claire got sent out of class, and I got to sit back in my regular seat. I love it when Claire gets called out for being her evil self. That's what I call karma.

Nicki and Claire and Me

I have to blog fast, since I'm super grounded.

Okay, I trust you all heard about that evil Claire telling Jason the truth about Nicki. Well, I got really mad about that. And yes, I got into a fight with her. And I'd do it again too. Why? I know I was wrong, but so was Claire. She has been so mean to me and even more so to Nicki. I saw my friend crying, and instincts took over. Claire was at fault, therefore she had to be taken down. But this Jason thing was only the latest mean thing she's done. She's treated Nicki like crap ever since they met.

Nicki, Claire, and I are all in the same girl scout troop. Claire's mom is troop leader. Claire has picked on her about being from Colorado, liking horse, wearing boots, and for having freckles ever since the first day she met her. And in troop meetings, her mom doesn't even make her stop teasing Nicki. Claire calls Nicki a hick at least once a day. She makes fun of me for being Jewish, and she makes fun of Ashley for having friends that are hicks and Jews.

Claire hadn't talked to me at all since the fight. Until today. After our troop meeting, she pulled me aside and said, "You're going down. You're all going down. None of you losers is safe." I just ignored her. She is so mistaken if she thinks any of us is scared. Perhaps this is war. If so, she can bring it.

As for Jason, he still isn't speaking to Nicki. She's kinda miserable about it... I hope he comes around, but there's nothing I can really do.

Dance Class

In my school, whenever the weather is bad out, we always have P.E. in our cafeteria (which has to serve as cafeteria/auditorium/gym) -- and the only thing we can do is dance. The eighth grade P.E. teacher Mrs. Moon leads us in these lame choreographed dances with very simple moves. Ashley hates it because it makes her want to do some real dancing, which this is not. Anyways, it was cold this morning, so we were dancing and Nicki discovered that Jason has P.E. with Mrs. Moon the same period we have P.E. with the 6th grade teacher Mrs. Campbell! So they did all their pairs dances together, and I've never seen her blush and giggle more. She really likes him...

Then we met up this afternoon after school to walk to my house and we ran into Jason just as we were leaving campus. He offered to walk with us, although it was pretty obvious he just meant Nicki. They even held hands, and when we got home, they hugged goodbye.

I can't blame her for liking him... he's cute, with his shaggy blondish hair and freckles and green eyes. He looks SO California, and apparently he used to leave near the coast. He's a nice guy... that's why I'm most disappointed in all the lying Nicki is doing...

Nicki + Jason = ????

So, you guys remember how I told you about Nicki getting asked to the dance by an eighth grader named Jason Tonner? Well, I'm in the school library typing this right now, because I'm in shock! Jason works in the library for extra credit... that's where Nicki met him. He's been flirting with her since we came back from winter break... because he thinks she's an eighth grader too! Nicki, Ashley, and I were in the library this morning and Jason came up to us and asked if we had Mrs. Arbuckle for English. Arbuckle only teaches grade 8! Ashley and I laughed and said we had Mrs. Lamb (who only teaches grade 6), but Nicki lied to him... she said she had Arbuckle too! And then she told Jason that Ashley and I were here younger cousins and she helps with our homework.

She told Jason she'll go to the dance with him even though her grandmother said she wasn't allowed to go with a boy. And then she made me and Ashley promise we wouldn't tell her grandma.

Nicki has never lied before. What's my friend becoming? She's acting like a... *gulp*... teenager!

Beautiful Nicki

So, I don't know if you guys have noticed, but my friend Nicki is like a beautiful young woman. I'll be honest... I hadn't noticed. I mean, I knew she was pretty and all, but yesterday at school, they announced that we'll be having a dance next Friday. It's not an evening time date kind of dance... it's during school, and if you have a black or gold card (meaning a GPA of over 2.7) you get to miss 7th period for this dance. Even though it's not a date type thing, some of the older kids are going in couples... and after school, an 8th grader named Jason Tonner asked Nicki to go with him! Well, her grandmother said there was no way she'd allow that... but now Nicki thinks she's very mature. She asked Bre for her own photo shoot, and we all had to admit that she's looking more grown up since she turned 11.

Here is the album. See for yourself. =)

It's Just Life.

Hi everyone!!!! Guess what? I'm still alive! *thunderous applause*

Would you like to know where I've been? Nowhere. Here. The internet has been off at our house for over a month. =( Bre and I are going insane! We're spending a few days at Bre's friend's house (which, coincidentally, is where my friend Rachel lives), so we're bumming her 'netz.

Sooo... we started school again on August 24th. It takes a lot of time a day out of my doing nothing time, *sigh* but it's okay. I have a few classes with Nicki, so that's nice. I'm in marching band, and in November we're gonna play in the Veteran's Day parade.

And since I last talked to you all, Bre had a birthday (the big 2-1, if you can believe that!) and we got a new sister... Ivy! =) Everyone here is crazy about her... she's so pretty and has the best stories about San Francisco. Bre also got a new kitten... she now has three cats, and none of them are big doll fans. =P

Travelling Sheridan has come and gone. I don't have pictures at the moment, but we did have an awesome time. Bre has also taken back to school pics of all of us dollies which I hope to be able to show you soon.

I'm sorry I haven't been around to talk to all of you, and that I haven't been able to read your bloggings about what's going on with all of you. If I don't comment on any of your blog posts for a while, don't be offended.

I'll try to do as many posts as I can while we're here for these few days.

Your faithful blogger,
Wendy Madelyn Stein

Shopping for Quinn's birthday

Today was the last day of school! It was great. All the fifth graders in school (from all three classes) were given a big party in the playground. There was so much ice cream and pizza! I almost burst! We finished up our tests and stuff yesterday, and turned in our big history papers. We were allowed to chose any American historical figure and write a big paper about them and what they accomplished. But the catch was that girls had to choose women and boys had to pick men. (I told you my teacher was weird.) I wrote about Abigail Adams.

Meanwhile, tomorrow Nicki and I are going shopping for Quinn's birthday presents tomorrow. I think Nicki already knows what she wants to get her, but I have no idea! What should I get her?

Until next time,

The carnival is back on!

Remember how I told you guys that they cancelled our school carnival because of the freak rainstorm? Well, it's back on! It's going to be this Tuesday, and I can't wait wait! It sucks that it's in the middle of the week, but that was the only day they could do it. But it will still rock. =) I'll be sure to post and tell you all about it.

Also, the Thursday after the carnival will be junior high tour day. All of us fifth graders will go to the jhs we'll be attending this fall for a tour. My sisters said they'll pair each of us off with a sixth grader who'll take us around the school and whatnot. I'm not too happy about having to go to a new school... I've been going to Eleanor Roosevelt since I was in kindergarten! I've heard good things and bad things about the school I'll attend... I just wish I had some friends going there. But as far as friends go, I have a few kids at school that I talk to and don't really mind, but my only real friend is Quinn. And she's homeschooled. *sigh* Do you think it'll be three years of awful or do I have a chance?

Until next time,

May Day and the Ridiculous Weather

Today is May Day! My school was supposed to have a May Day carnival today. The carnivals at school are fun... all the kids get released after lunch to the carnival, that way all the kids can come. But then at night, it's really wonderful. There are tons of games, and face painting... and a cake walk! All the lights go on and there are a lot of fun things to do. And there's food everywhere... it's just so much fun. Quinn and Ben were going to come with my family this evening.

But... one thing the school didn't know when the carnival got planned was that the weather is horrible! It's been windy and rainy and plain awful all day! This morning the principal announced that the carnival had to be postponed because of the weather and everything. We may not have it at all now. =/

And I'm not the only one getting fun stuff cancelled. Bre's Anthropology class was going on a field trip to the Zoo tomorrow, but she isn't able to go now.

So Quinn and I are just gonna be watching movies and stuff tonight. That'll still be fun, right? =)

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO

The Play

Today our class put on the play I was telling you all about in my last post. All of the kids who weren't in the play (me and several others) got to have "backstage" jobs. I was in charge of the curtain. Claire, our Anne Frank, wasn't able to memorize all of her lines, and neither did most of the other kids. There were so many "ums" and "uhhs" on that stage. Our teacher was turning red, blue, green, and purple. Then, one of the other kids ran into me backstage and I fell, pulling the curtain down. A few parents in the audience began to clap, and the principal didn't let them go back on to finish the show. It was so sad.

Then, when the principal was handing out the awards, she called Claire up to get her perfect attendance certificate. When she was going up the stairs, she tripped on her shoelace and fell. She hit her face and got a bad nosebleed, and started crying. When we went back to class after the assembly to get our stuff, I tapped her on the shoulder and told her she was such a big baby. She grunted and stormed away... and it felt so good.

After school, I went with Quinn, Ben, and their mom to see a movie at this theater downtown. They have what they call the family matinee, which is always an old Disney movie. Today we saw Dumbo, which I hadn't seen since I was a really little kid.

But the really big news is that I'm now officially on spring break!! Yay!! Are you all on break too or did you already have it?

Until next time,

Anne Frank

We've been talking about World War II in history for the past week or so. I've always found this a pretty fascinating time period and I like studying it. (That's a big part of why I like Molly.) Anyways, our school is having an assembly for the academic awards this quarter, and our teacher volunteered our class to put on a play. And since we're studying WWII, she decided on The Diary of Anne Frank. The assembly is this friday, right before the break starts, and a lot of parents will be there. Because my teacher is really scatter brained and crazy, we didn't start rehearsing the play until today. (No, that wasn't a typo. Today.)

First thing this morning, she assigned parts. I was chosen to play Anne Frank. I was really honored at first, and then I realized I had been a) type cast, and b) completely bamboozled, as that part has A LOT of lines.

Well, before we started rehearsing, to give the class some background on the time period and what-not, we watched this film about the Holocaust. It was SO sad. I didn't mean to, but the film really upset me and I sorta started to cry a little. Not like bawling or anything, but still. This girl named Claire who sits next to me noticed and leaned over and called me "a stupid, overly-sensitive baby." And I wiped my eyes, and kinda without thinking accidentally called her a stupid little... well, I won't repeat the word, because it was kinda bad. And of course, I got in trouble. I didn't even mean to say it... I guess it's something I picked up from my sisters, since they jokingly call each other that at least 10 times a day. The punishment? Lunchtime detention for two days, a call home, and I lost my part in the play. The ironic bit? The new Anne Frank is CLAIRE. Whatever... I didn't want to be in a play anyways.

The good thing, I suppose is that my parents didn't get too mad. My mom told me to watch my mouth from now on (which I promise I will *angelic smile*) and my dad took one of my comics. (And that was only because he wanted to read it.)

Until next time,
Wendy (Angela Moira Darling) Stein XOXO
