Addy's new couture dress - review

Another scheduled post. =)

Addy just got a great new dress a while back. It's from ebay seller newyorkdolldesigns. This is something of a review.

The fabric is absolutely lovely, although I'm not sure how well you can tell in the pictures. It's very detailed -- there's ribbon trim and decorative buttons. The dress closes with snaps rather than velcro -- that's always a plus since it doesn't snag hair or stockings! The seams are all finished and serged. A good thing about this particular dress is that it's cut wide enough to accommodate the hoopskirt from Addy's retired underwear set. (We don't own this set, however. Addy is shown wearing the dress hoop-less. *sigh*)

I think the dress looks rather smart with Addy's lace-up boots (pictured above) and with her heartwarmer shawl.
My only complaint is that the dress has the very faintest, slight whiff of cigarette smoke. It would probably only aggravate very sensitive allergies.

Overall, I would highly recommend this seller. The dress is wonderful!

Ivy's birthday present

Hello everyone! I just wanted to make a few posts today to share some recent pictures. I'm posting this now, and I'll have the other scheduled for later.

The other day was Ivy's birthday. The one thing she wanted more than anything was a doll. Not an American Girl doll, or a Barbie styling head (aka Julie's Christmas gift -- she already has that =P)... she wanted an Asian doll. And Bre went on a mad search at many stores to find her one. She ended up finding this wonderful Japanese doll at the same antique store where she bought Sam's desk and Noah's crib. Ivy loves her doll, even if it's not exactly Chinese. She said it beats a blond Barbie any time. =)

Oh, and if you haven't had a chance to throw in your two cents about our next doll, we'd appreciate it if you did. =) Thanks

Who should be our next doll?

Even though there are quite a few dolls here and Bre has very little money, she always likes to have a plan or a list of the next dolls she wants. That way she doesn't decide one day, "hey, I'm gonna buy so-and-so!" without thinking it through.

There are a few we want, but who to get very next?

Marisol (been on her list since '05!)
A regency era custom doll
A customized #26 to be her mini-me and Ashley's sister
Rebecca
Josefina
#21

Who do you think oughta be next? We want everyone to vote! And tell us why you picked who you did. Thanks!

Hello from guest blogger Ashley!

Hey everyone! I'm Ashley and my pal Wendy has given me permission to post on her blog! She said she had really neat friends I should meet. =)

So I don't know what she may have already mentioned about me, but my name is Ashley Beaumont and I'm 11 years old. Wendy and Nicki and I got to the same school and have some of the same classes. My best friend is named Taylor Castro... she's amazing! We dance together and have known one another since about forever. That girl is so sweet. My next closest friend is my sister Alice, although she isn't a doll that lives here (yet).

My favorite things to do are dance (obviously), watch silly movies, and read books. I'm pretty into history, and like Taylor I'm a time traveler. I really like to go to Addy and Kirsten's time periods.

Well, I guess that's about it... I hope to get to know you all really well. Bye!

Love, Ashley N. Beaumont (friend of Wendy M. Stein)
